Subscriptions and billing
Architect Within offers an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
To cancel: open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Architect Within, then Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID to request one.
I paid but the app still shows the paywall
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. This asks the App Store to look up any active subscription on your Apple ID and unlocks the app again. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. Still stuck? Email us and mention the Apple ID you used.
My journal entries
Journal entries are stored on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers as part of normal use, and we cannot read them.
The one exception is the Shadow Reading. When you choose to run one, the relevant entries are sent to our server and on to our AI provider to generate the reflection, and are not retained afterwards. That only happens when you explicitly ask for a reading.
Because entries live on your device, deleting the app removes them. There is no way for us to recover them afterwards.
Deleting your account
If you created an account, open Settings in the app and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and any associated server-side data. You can also email us from the address you signed up with and we will take care of it.
This is heavy, and I need more than an app
Architect Within is a companion for reflection. It is not therapy, not a diagnosis, and not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your country right now.
In the United States call or text 988. In the United Kingdom call 116 123 (Samaritans). In the Netherlands call 113 or 0800-0113. Elsewhere, the findahelpline.com directory lists a line for your country.
If the work is bringing up more than you can hold on your own, that is not failure. It is a sign to do it alongside a trained therapist rather than alone at night.
Still need a human
